A new director had taken over the program and wanted a fresh look — one that sat closer to the school’s own mark rather than running off in its own direction. The logo, the shirts and the website had each grown up separately, and keeping them consistent was taking time the directors didn’t have.
One mark first: a hawk crest and wordmark drawn to survive being shrunk, from a marquee down to a two-inch polo patch. Everything else was built off it — the program shirt, the postcards and weekly graphics, and a website set up so the directors could run it themselves afterwards.
Hays now runs its logo, apparel, print and website from one place, and the directors update the site without calling me. The graphics get reused week to week instead of being remade each time.
